Homemade Pizza - Quick, Easy & Tasty
Posted by: | CommentsTonight on the menu was some tasty home made pizza. Needless to say tonights efforts were somewhat more successful than last nights attempts at cooking, however, that is because I have cooked homemade pizzas before.
What you will need:
1. Lebanese Bread
2. A tomato or BBQ based sauce (Fountain sell a good pre-made pizza sauce)
3. Mozzarella cheese (or a premix cheese from your supermarket)
4. Any other toppings of choice (mince, pepperoni, cabanossi, tomato, mushrooms, avocado, prosciutto and so on)
So, my toppings of choice for this evening were:
* Mince
* Tomato
* Mushrooms
* Avocado
While this is a simple pizza it is tasty and quick to make. On average this should take at *most* 40 minutes from start to finish. As a note for every additional pizza you can add about 5 minutes preparation and 10-15 minutes cooking time.
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (200 for non-fan-forced)
2. Cook up your meat, in my case this was mince if you feel like it you can include some onions:
3. Next place your Lebanese Bread on an oven tray lined with baking paper (saves trying to scrape cheese off the baking tray later), and then cover it with your sauce of choice. In this case I used some special rib sauce (a story for another time), a dash of barbecue sauce and some Fountain Pizza Sauce.
4. Before beginning to throw on your toppings, sprinkle a small amount of cheese over the base, this will help your toppings to stick to the base rather than sliding all around when you try to eat the pizza.
5. Throw your toppings on one by one:
6. Once you have your toppings on, top it all off with cheese (as much or as little as you want).
7. Cook for 10-15 minutes, you can tell when it is done when you cheese begins to brown nicely.
Well there you have it, the reason I love this meal is that it is so easy to do, and when you need to scale it to 3 or 4 (or 6) pizzas you can do so easily. Great for when you are having a party or unexpected guests.
So give it a go, something quick, easy and tasty too. Depending on the toppings you use it can be a really healthy meal too.
Let me know some suggestions for different toppings.
