Gravatar – Get your pic on comments!
Please be advised: This blog is no longer being posted on or updated and is now only a static copy of my old Wordpress blog. To see some of my newer work please see SCRyan.com - My Personal Site. Or alternatively you can contact me on twitter.
Howdy all,
This is a bit of a short one but one that I feel is important. As some of you know when you comment on my blog (and quite a lot of blogs now) you can get your “avatar” (your face or your picture that represents you) next to your comment to liven it up a little.
I have had a few people ask me about this recently so I just thought I would do a general post to let you know how you can get this all set up.
Basically a Gravatar is a globally recognised avatar, and so once you set it up once, it will work across any blogs that have the gravatar feature enabled. If you pop on over to http://www.gravatar.com and set up an account. You can assign your email addresses to an avatar which will automatically display when you leave a comment on a blog using the same email address.
So if you have not done so already and you would like to feel free to pop on over there and set it up and if you would like you can leave a comment here to test it out.

Ok..I will, thanks for the info

Bah humbug! Ever since Gravatar and Wordpress.com joined forces, I haven’t been able to log in to my gravatar account but I have no problem logging into my Wordpress.com account! LOL So weird. It’s ok, I don’t mind being anonymous sometimes

@ Melai – I look forward to seeing it once it is active.
@fragileheart, that is evil have you tried resetting your password (see http://en.gravatar.com/account/forgot-password/ )
LOL and I guess a certain level of anonymity is nice these days.

LOL Yeah… I have tried… but it never sends the reset password to my email. *sigh* And I don’t want to create a new account because I like my name being ‘fragileheart’! lol

Hmm that is a shame (and rather strange too) the only think I could think is that perhaps you used a freemail account (or another email account) when you signed up and the email address you think it is is listed as a secondary on the account not the primary.
