Fat Buster Friday – Week 1: Morning Tea

Welcome to week 1 of my mission to lose weight, and what a week it has been. I know one of the culprits for me gaining weight has been the consumption of morning tea every morning of the working week which often consisted of a double chocolate chip muffin or an egg and bacon roll.
This week I decided that this was the first unhealthy habit to go and as a consequence I have been feeling a lot hungrier than usual. I have made similar moves before and I often find that the first week is the hardest to overcome. I find that my body constantly craves the extra food, and corresponding copious amounts of excess energy that I used to consume.
I am still consuming far too much Diet Coke, but I figure I will tackle one thing at a time, if I drop my body in the deep end too quickly I am only going to face failure, and that is the last thing that I want. My aim for the coming week is to go for at least two bike rides to get back into cycling (as I really have missed bike riding terribly), so I hope that next week I will be able to let you all know that I have succeeded in this.
In other news after looking at Gyminee as a tracking program for weight loss, I am grossly unhappy due to it being so targeted to United States users. Therefore I have decided to go with CalorieKing Australia (as it has a lot more Australian Food Products). So if you would like to see my profile on CalorieKing please do so. Each day as I list what foods I am eating they will be there so anyone can check up on me, but it is more so that I can check up on myself.
I have already begun filling in Calorie King today so if you want to have a look please feel free.
Keep an eye out next week as I hope to bring you some interesting facts about some common foods such as the double chocolate chip muffin I love so dearly and letting you know *exactly* what you are consuming.
Until then… behave yourselves and keep bustin that fat!

If you are used to having morning tea, you probably should have something healthy instead so that you don’t get so hungry. I normally bring morning and afternoon tea to work, otherwise biscuits start looking way too tempting. Maybe some fruit, yoghurt or museli bar type stuff?

I’ve been on a weight loss mission since May. I’ve taken the easy way out–better living through chemistry (see my blog).
Good luck to you! I think you should keep the tea, but have something healthy and yummy to go with it. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
Web-Bettys last blog post..Don’t put that in your mouth! You still have 38 pounds to go!
Hi Web-Betty
I will pop on over and have a look thank you for the heads up.
Also the problem was previously that I was having breakfast and then a large morning tea as well so I was really doubling up, hence why it had to be cut hehe.

OK… I have to be the worst boyfriend ever, I completely missed Erin’s comment.
I think the readers should decide how I am punished for this one. But anyhoo, I like the idea of yoghurt but I would find that it would just make me hungrier by giving me a taste but wanting more.
Will have to think on that one.
*blushes* and my apologies darling.

I wish you the best! I’m always excited for those who take on the weight loss challenge. You’ll definitely be healthier for it.

Hi Jacqueline,
Thanks so much I cant wait to feel healthier again, something that I am very much looking forward to.

its ok to keep the tea…some may argue that it will actually help you in your quest to lose weight. But yeah, stay away from the muffins and sweets.

Hi Paunchiness,
LOL I kept the Diet Coke (as I am not a big tea drinker) but have tried to keep the muffins out of it.
It has been hard (and I have reverted once or twice this week) but I am trying my best to persist.
