What if Wednesday - All alone in a strange new world!
Posted by: | Comments
Welcome again to What if Wednesday. I wanted to do something slightly different this week, something a little less serious.
This weeks question is… “What if you were all alone in a strange new world it might be the moon it might be mars?”
Now I want you all to do something slightly different this week… *before you read my thoughts* scroll down to the comment section and put your very first thoughts down… I am curious to see everyone’s thoughts prior to reading what I have been pondering (just as an interesting new experiment and because we can LOL).
My thoughts - I think I would go insane, I would not even be able to handle it for a day. I know that I am very much a socialite and I crave human contact. I find that when I am alone for even a day without seeing another person I get quite isolated and *shudders* just not a nice feeling.
I guess on the plus side it would be kinda cool to be the premiere habitor of a new world, having the ability to mold things the way you want could be good fun… but I would really want someone there with me (looks in Erin’s direction).
What about you, feel free to take your own direction on this one… what is the first thing that comes to your mind?

Fat Buster Friday - McDonalds Breakfast
Posted by: | Comments
Welcome to another Fat Buster Friday… I have to say I am starting to feel like this is becoming a regular weekly segment of how badly I am doing in my mission to bust that extra fat off my gut. However I am just about finished up with uni this semester so I am hoping that I will be able to spend more time on this mission.
Anyhoo this morning was a particularly bad one for me, I was running short of time as I slept in a little bit and so I decided to get brekky once I got into work. So I thought I would get one of my standard Maccas breakfasts to show you just what you can consume in a sitting at the golden arches.
Firstly you might look at that and think that it is an excessive breakfast, however for me if I eat any less at McDonalds I start feeling hungry again only a few hours later. So on this mornings menu we had, two hashbrowns, a Sausage McMuffin and a serving of hotcakes.
Before I go into the glorious details of each I just want to give you a heads up. As a male of my particular age group, weight and activity level I should be consuming ~2000 calories per day at maximum if I wish to loose weight or around ~2200 if I want to maintain my weight. If you are unsure of what a calorie is it really is not necessary to know for the purposes of this post but well worth looking up some details on calories if you have the time.
So onto the fun stuff. If you take a look at the image at the bottom of this post which I took from the McDonalds Website after dragging and dropping my selections of food onto it you will see that my standard Maccas meal is FAR greater than what I should be eating in one sitting.
As a little summary you will see the total intake for my one sitting breakfast was ~1213 calories. As a percentage of my total daily intake (worked out at 2000 as I wish to lose weight) this comes in at almost 61% of my daily required intake of energy. Among other things I also took in a whopping 50 grams of pure fat, almost 48 grams of sugar (~12 teaspoons) and finally 1778mg of sodium (salt) which is ~71% of my daily intake requirement (based on the amounts stated in this article).
All in all to put this into perspective… I SHOULD NEVER AGAIN EAT A MACCAS BREAKFAST. Oh… and for the record I was feeling seedy all day from having that for breakfast… and I seem to recall that I do every time I eat McDonalds.
So what are your thoughts, perhaps you could pop over to the McDonalds Australia site and calculate your last McDonalds meal, I would be curious to see your results.

What if Wednesday - End of the World?
Posted by: | Comments
Welcome again to another installment of What If Wednesday. I have an interesting topic this week that I have been pondering on for a while.
This week the question is “What if the world was going to end tomorrow?”
Hmm… even as I sit here now I wonder what angle I can throw on this. I mean there are all the normal aspects of “Am I happy with my life” or “Have I achieved everything I have wanted to” that sort of thing. But I wanted to be able to throw something different on this question.
I guess I can throw this angle on it, if I knew that the world was going to end tomorrow and I had one last day to do anything, I would probably take go out for the day and do everything I had always been afraid to do. Things like bungee jumping, base jumping, HALO jumping among a few other things, I guess I would live that last day to the extreme and well erm… live like there was no tomorrow *hehe*.
So your question is now “What if the world was going to end tomorrow?”, throw whatever spin you like on the question that is half the fun or in other words, you don’t have to answer it in the same way I did, of what you would do on the last day. If you feel like being philosophical or otherwise, I welcome it with open arms.

Fat Buster Friday - Late Again
Posted by: | CommentsHowdy all,
I know this Fat Buster Friday is late again, and I do apologise but things may be a little more quiet than normal around here for the next fortnight. It is getting up towards the last two weeks of university so things are rather hectic for me.
Anyhoo I have some wonderful news, I rode my bike into work twice this week so I managed to finally complete that task and I am hoping to start riding into work a little more often. In other not so good news… my eating habits have been less than weight-loss-acceptable so I am going to need to work on this. But hey if I can start riding into work a little more that will be a dang good start.
I will keep you posted as to what is up and coming on my blog in the next few days. Might have to try and get some stuff written up tomorrow in advance.
