You try to do something nice!

I was on the way to work yesterday, and when I sat down on the bus I noticed that the seat next to me was quite wet. So to stop anyone sitting on it and getting a wet bum I decided to put my bag there (as I know what an annoyance ending up with a wet bum can be).

Over the course of the 15 min bus ride to work, a few people walked past, most of which gave me a dirty look. When I explained it to them most of them gave me even a worse dirty look and moved on. Out of all of the people only two thanked me for saving them from a cold wet bum.

The one that really got me though was the last gal close to the end of my trip. She just gave me the WORST death stare ever and made me feel really bad. Here I was trying to do her a favour and this is how I am repayed.

*pouts* I don’t normally piss and moan but the whole ordeal made me really uncomfortable and would make me consider about doing the right thing next time. My trip would have been a lot easier if I had let the first person sit there.

(End Rant)

Well I just cannot understand why people do that, I will keep doing what I see to be the right thing… but it just makes you feel really bad when you try to do something nice for people.

Oh well, I am off to finish work then have a night with my lovely young girlfriend. She will cheer me up by tormenting me and letting me torment her back *YAAY* hahaha.

Behave yourselves…
Stu ;)

That sounds like a very bad bus trip. People do seem to get angry quite easily on public transport. I personally do find it annoying when people think their bag needs its own seat, but it does baffle me that people were still annoyed after you explained about the wet seat. You should read the letters section of mX and see how much people complain about other commuters.
At least your lovely young girlfriend was able to cheer you up (I especially like the use of the word “young”, lol).

I work in customer service. I learned very early on that you can bend over backwards for people, and they’ll still sh*t on you and rub it in.

    Hi Solomon,
That is true for the most part, however I have learned that every so often someone comes along and actually really appreciates what you do.

Usually that person has worked in Customer Service at one point too.
