Cheeseburger In a Can - (NO… REALLY!!!)

A disturbing (yet just as hilarious email) crossed my Inbox this morning. It seems that a German company has invented the Cheeseburger in a can.

(Photos I have since found out were originally taken by Honk from the Something Awful Forums).

I guess what they say, pictures tell a thousand words is most appropriate here:

The Can:

Cheeseburger in a Can

Reheating Time:

Cheeseburger in a Can

Almost Ready to Eat:

Cheeseburger in a Can

Looks *Kinda* OK:

Cheeseburger in a Can

Ok Now *THAT* Just looks wrong on so many levels:

Cheeseburger in a Can

I honestly thought that a product like this would have come from the fast food nation of the world… America, looks like I was wrong there.

If you are really interested you can see the website of the makers (good luck unless you can read German). I have to say I would be curious to have a taste, just once.

Well I think this is the *lowest* of lows that food can go… but if there is a market for it I say bring it on.

Has anyone tried these, or had the experience. Also what other crazy foods have you come across in your life?

Until next time - enjoy the above replacement for McDonalds.

Stuart

That has got to be one of the funniest (yet at the same time disgusting) things I’ve seen in awhile. Thanks for sharing - I got a good laugh!

I can’t imagine how vile it would be. I got one of those frozen microwaveable cheeseburgers once and it was terrible. I rejected it after one bit, and the dog wouldn’t even eat it (and if there ever was an omnivorous scavenger, he’s it).

*grins* how I LOVE turning people stomaches so close to “insert breakfast/lunch/dinner” time.

    Glad you liked it moneyloveandchange.

Ian I have had those once before as well, it was as a kid and I swore never again (so for a kid to reject that it would have had to be pretty vile). Worse yet for your dog to reject it to… I *dread* to think of what the one you had would have been like.

Can’t comment on the meat bit as I never eat the stuff, but the thought of a tinned roll and the yucky looking trimmings is too ghastly to think about.

    Hi,
I don’t think I’d like to eat anything like that! Canned burgers, holy sh–! Is this safe for human consumption? FDA approved and all that?

Burgers are readily available if one wants high cholesterol of the negative kind, why go for canned ones? It looks weird. I’d say “danke” but that’s it. –Durano, done!

Here’s another bit of worthless garbage… it doesn’t surprise me that it’s a German product, cos cheeseburger contains hamburger, which originates in… Hamburg;-D

I must agree with you all that the idea of a canned burger is rather… ermm festy. I mean have a look close at the last picture it just looks so mushy.

Durano - I have no idea if it is FDA approved but it is for sale at the website I mentioned LOL.

Shelia - I suggest you buy your hubbie one *grins*… I would love to see his reaction

Robert - Thanks so much for that, I will get over there and have a squiz

Wow, and here I thought Vienna Sausages looked incredibly unappetizing. You would have to be very hungry or very lazy to eat that. I am definitely going to have to show this one around.

Hoi! Funny and light entry. Nice. All things have become instant these days.:D Whoa- hamburger in a can? I agree on you that thinking about anything instant, the US of A would cross my mind as the culprit perpetrators. However then, Europe probably wouldn’t want to be left behind in that sense:D

Incidentally, I have also posted last Feb 14(date of all dates:D) about something that will be instant in the Western world(hopefully not if it be a success. Your hamburger in can came from Germany whilst this one comes from it’s brother country, The Netherlands(popularly known as Holland)an event where it was held for the 2nd time in Europe.

    Have a nice day!

    God bless!

    Heya Paddy,
I will have to look into that and see if I can pull up the statistic. For the record I was more referring to the fact that America has such a large market (due to such a massive population) that often it is where new products such as this are first tried out.

When I was in the US, I was most fascinated by the concept of pressurized “cheese” in a can. Of course, there wasn’t a trace of real cheese in it… just a horrible plastic-looking mound of orange-yellow goo. Ugh.

I was pretty sure that this was as low as the human race would go in terms of foods in pressurized cans, but I was wrong. I recently heard about “Organic Batter Blaster”, which is pancake batter that you just squirt onto a pan.

    http://www.batterblaster.com/

One look at the website instantly hardened my arteries. Yuck.
